Synopsis

Tyler (Munro Chambers) returns from a six year prison sentence to a surprise reunion with his former college friends, only to discover that they've all veered off course under the societal pressure of adulthood. Weighed down by the combination of college debt, hefty living costs, and the dawn of social media, this generation is overworked, underpaid, and quite simply: stuck.

Tyler (28) has also been stuck: stuck in prison. To give his closest friends a chance to fulfill their dreams, Tyler “took the fall” for a college party that got too out of hand. The bigger surprise to Tyler, however, is how distant the group has grown and how much each individual has changed. Over the course of a tense dinner party, he tries to come to terms with their constant complaining, sense of entitlement, and downright angst.

True Independent Filmmaking

Steven Hellmann moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue filmmaking in the Summer of 2016, armed with only a few final draft scripts written on his laptop, and a dream. After a year and half of pitching scripts and landing a job at a film studio in the distribution department, Steven made the decision to write "Taking The Fall", with full intentions to both film the movie and distribute it himself. After a few months of trying to find a team to help produce the movie, Steven met filmmakers Josh Marble and Chris Alexander. At a coffee shop, with the "Taking The Fall" script printed out, Steven asked them if they could bring his story to life, and they did. Having years of producing experience together, Josh and Chris were more than equipped to film, produce, direct, and edit "Taking The Fall". With no outside investors or backers, the trio was able to coordinate the entire creation and distribution of the film by themselves.
